Obesity And Weight Control Getting Out Of Hand... By Angela Sorros

Angela Sorros

Obesity and weight control go hand in hand. The most likely reason you are obese is because you did not control your weight and did very little to no exercise, and the only way to get rid of obesity is to control your weight! It is a cycle carried out successfully by many obese people who are now enjoying their lives with a health average weight which they are happy with and can enjoy things in life!

Weight loss comes in many forms, quick fix fad diets, surgery, sensible eating and exercise are some of the ways that you can loose weight, and the two most sensible options are sensible eating which consists of eating a balanced diet high in fruit and vegetables and low in fat and sugar, and exercise which could be anything from taking two flights of stairs to a two hour session in the gym. Weight control is significant in obesity because if you do not loose weight you will loose on average about nine years of your life due to health and medical problems such as diabetes, heart disease and cancers. Extra weight crushes the internal organs and therefore makes you more susceptible to health difficulties.

Obesity and weight control are intertwined, everything we do when it comes to eating and activities help determine whether we are going to fall short and end up obese, if we eat a varied and healthy diet we should not become obese as long as there is moderate exercise involved also! Weight control is advised by all doctors to people who are overweight, obese and suffer from medical conditions such as those mentioned above as weight can worsen the effects of the medical conditions.

If people just ate wisely and sensibly obesity and weight control would not have as much focus on it, then again people that were obese would get the help that they are getting now if obesity wasn’t in the spotlight. Obesity plays a large part in our societies and we need to help wherever we can whether this is by oral support or by organising a slimming class for overweight individuals and people who want to maintain their weight. Weight control can be achieved easily all you need is some self control and hard work not to mention the support from friends and family!

Link Between Height And Penis Size : Myth Or Truth ? By Hklein

Hklein

Maybe this is one of the most popular myths about the size of the penis : while you could easily guess the shapes of a woman’s breast, legs and hips regardless of the clothes she is wearing, guessing a man penis size is notoriously a harder task without direct and real observation. Of course, some “happy few” can clearly boast – but this is rare – a big bulging organ behind their clothes. That’s also why many people still believe that the penis size could be related to factors like the size of the ears or nose, or the size of the hands or feet.

Let’s go back to scientific facts : in 2002, a study conducted by the British Journal of Urology made clear there was no correlation between the size of the male foot and the penis size. It is also true that the study did not focus on body height to identify the penis size, but the result has of course every chance of applying to it. It must be understood that the penis is an appendage like the ears or the nose, and that it is not influenced by the body height. In fact, penis does not follow the same rules as bones or muscles which match the body height to simply sustain its weight and maintain its common erect posture.

Study found that there is also no correlation between the limbs and the penis – even it is made clear that the development of the penis and the limbs inside the womb is controlled by the same genes. Remember that the overall human body development during childhood and puberty is controlled by genes and hormones in large numbers. And that is very unlikely that genes or hormones could control the size of two different parts or organs.

This is why science has to do such myths justice or disapprove them forever, because there is no indication that they will ever vanish from the vast ocean of common ideas shared by mankind.

Keeping Women's Health In Check By Jane Simpson

Jane Simpson

If a woman ever experienced unusually painful menstruation or noticed lumps in their breasts and vaginal discharge similar to cottage cheese, there is a great possibility she's in trouble. Any sensible woman should immediately set an appointment and see her trusted gynecologist. Women's health is often a subject taken for granted. Most women wait until they are rushed to the hospital before they do something about their condition. Experts in women's health advise ladies to be 'listen' and 'understand' their bodies. Even a seemingly trivial symptom should not be ignored as it may be a telltale sign of deadly breast cancer or a form of sexually transmitted disease.

Women can actually detect early stages of cancer through simple do-it-yourself breast assessment. Two or three days after every menstruation period, a woman should gently check her breasts for possible lumps or change in color and texture. Gynecologists say cancerous lump is usually a firm and solitary mass that just stays in a particular spot. If a lump changes position, there's a big possibility that it is non-malignant. Aside from lumps, a woman should also watch out for the disturbing presence of veins, breast discharges which are watery or mucus-like, and nipples that are inverted. According to women's health advocates, those who have a breast cancer history in their families are more prone to acquire the illness. But even if a woman doesn't have breast cancer history, it wouldn't hurt if she regularly examine her breasts for safety measure.

Apart from breast cancer, another illness concerning women's health is sexually transmitted disease. STD can manifest in the form of chlamydia, syphilis, genital herpes, and gonorrhea. Even if a lady is not sexually active and doesn't engage in extra-marital sexual affairs, she can still obtain STD from her philandering husband or boyfriend. General symptoms of STD include thick and smelly vaginal discharge, bumps or rashes, and burning sensation in the feminine area. A woman infected with STD can also experience pain when having sexual intercourse and irregular bleeding in between menstrual cycles. Medication varies from one STD kind to another (and also depending on the severity of the case). For prevention, experts advise women to use condom which is not only a form of contraceptive but also serve as protection against STD. Husbands, on the other hand, should avoid womanizing and extra-marital sexual intercourses as much as possible. The fight against STD should be a concerted effort between husband and wife. In the case of STD, husbands are also involved in the issue of women's health.

Obesity Treatment Necessities By Angela Sorros

Angela Sorros

There is no definitive treatment for obesity but there are lots of options people can try to help them loose weight. Diets, slimming clubs, exercise, eating plans are most of the basic techniques used to shift the weight but when that doesn’t work then many obese people are referred for surgery, this is a last chance option for people who are obese and should not jumped in to, a lot of thought and consideration needs to be taken before deciding on an operation. The advantages and disadvantages need to be compared before there is any decision.

Obesity treatment comes in all shapes and sizes, from simple dieting to surgery. Dieting is your best option as results from surgery as not always guaranteed to work and may not last. Diet is a pain free, although very easy to fall off method of loosing weight. You need to be dedicated and strict with yourself when it comes to dieting as it is very easy to come of track and start eating all the wrong foods again, join a slimming club or something similar so you are with other people who are having the same problems as you are and you have the support that you need.

Obesity treatment in the form of surgery is a lot more complicated than a simple diet, although dieting is of course involved, there is no point undergoing surgery and using preventative measures if you are just going to go back to eating unhealthily it would not be worth the pain or the effort.

There are a few different types of obesity treatment surgeries such as gastric banding; where the doctors place an elastic band around the top half of your stomach through keyhole surgery which can be loosened or tightened depending on circumstances, there is gastric stapling; where the stomach is stapled to only allow a minute amount of food so you cannot put on weight and there is a stomach bypass; the most invasive surgical procedure of the lot. This is where a tube is placed in your stomach and food is transported to the end of you small intestine therefore bypassing three quarters of you small intestine the benefit of this surgery is that you can still eat what you want (within reason) and that fat content will not be absorbed as the small intestine is where most absorption takes placed and that is being bypassed, of course there are some drawbacks to this procedure, you may find that you will get a mineral deficiency and diarrhoea will be severe and very uncomfortable.

Obesity treatment may not be effective if you are only using method, try using several methods for optimum weight loss!

Obesity Rate Today By Angela Sorros

Angela Sorros

New figures show that the number of people who are obese hs tripled in the last two decades and the number is still rising. Figures that are to be shown to the parliament show that most adults are overweight and one in five are clinically obese. This caused 300000 premature deaths in England alone in 1998. This is not the overall obesity rate for the United Kingdom. Obesity rates in America are much higher. The National Health Service pays over £500 million in treating people with obesity and it is hampering other developments which could be taking place.

It estimated that each person, whose death is directly linked to an obesity related condition, loses nine years of life. This is an astounding figure which needs to be reduced dramatically. The obesity rate is causing more and more health problems through diabetes, high blood pressure, cancers, high cholesterol and arthritis. Most of these can be prevented if a person with obesity looses weight and sticks to a healthy routine.

The obesity rate in America tells us that over 300 million adults are struggling to cope with their obesity and medical problems. Obesity cannot be stopped by eating less dohnuts and walking to work, it needs hard fast methods of approach and they need to be carried out with the utmost dedication. It takes a lot of time to loose weight healthily and quick fix fad diets should not be attempted as the weight that is lost through these diets is very easily put back on with more weight added to the total figure, most of the diets weight is loss is only water and lean muscle.

To cut the obesity rate we as a civilization need to correct the way that people are living and try to give them a better head in life. People need to see that eating healthy and exercise wont only keep them slim but it will help to prevent them from contracting any chronic diseases and keep them healthy in general. The obesity rate needs to be lowered any way that we can!

A Brighter, Whiter Smile In Your Future By John Francis Amberden

John Francis Amberden

They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, but a bright white smile will radiate your day. At one time, whitening teeth was done only by people with means. Today there are many different procedures and products that can be used to whiten your smile.

There are toothpastes that have enhanced whitening ability. These toothpastes are packaged and sold just like any other toothpastes. They have special unnamed ingredients that help you gently polish and brush away stains. They do work better than normal fluoride toothpastes, but they do not contain bleaches.

The next step up the treatment ladder are the at-home bleach solutions or the tray-based whiteners. These products usually contain hydrogen peroxide based materials that actually work to bleach the teeth. They are gel based and are normally administered by placing the gel in a mouthguard and worn nightly for a period of time. Care should be used and directions followed at all times. In that regard, any at home products that are used without your dentist’s approval should have the ADA (American Dental Association) seal of approval.

A safer version of the at-home bleach solution or tray-based whitener is one recommended by your dentist. Your dentist will recommend a bleaching agent and its strength based on the discoloration of your teeth and the health of your gums. Usually the dentist recommended product contains various strengths of carbamide peroxide as compared to hydrogen peroxide that is used for the do it your self kits mentioned above. This whitener is also gel based and is implemented with a custom made mouth guard worn a few hours a day for several weeks.

There are also a couple of physical processes that are used to whiten your smile. They are called bonding and porcelain veneers. Bonding is when a composite resin is molded to you teeth to change the color and reshape them. This can usually be done in an office visit. Unfortunately, this material can stain and even chip over time.

Porcelain veneers are shell like materials that are also molded and shaped on stained teeth. They have a more polished, whiter look and can be quite a bit more expensive … approximately a thousand dollars per tooth.

Whatever the choice, a brighter, whiter smile can be in your future. Investigate your options with your dentist and choose the right one for you. Be prepared to smile … and enjoy doing it!
